I miss the highs and lows of game development
Sometimes I wonder what it would've been like to have been born 5 years sooner, 'cause there's days where it feels like I was born a bit too early for the big gamedev boat. I didn't pick up gamedev until I was 26 and by that time I was finishing up my Master's and starting a career in a field completely unrelated to tech and programming. I guess I've only ever known gamedev as a hobby (and more recently a small side gig), and at this point, doing it while holding a full-time job is a challenge in itself and since it's the ONLY programming-related thing I do, my chances of breaking out of RPG Maker or other user-friendly engines anytime soon are pretty slim.
But I'm kinda glad it ended up that way. At least I have stability to make games at my own pace and how I want. It's something that helps keep my life varied.

Making Annoying But Never Stupid Games as a Challenge
The difference between a bad game that's frustrating to play and a bad game that's entertaining and fun to laugh at can make all the difference in which of the two goes down in memory.
No one will remember Beyond the Beyond but everyone remembers Sonic Boom.

Now all I wanted was a nice Sunday to soak in my beer bath and wouldn't you know it those rotten Soap Worms were at it AGAIN!
Delays Again
We're rooting for you all the way, Uni. I hope things get better for you soon, and your health comes first.
Whenever I post a screenshot the only thing I really truly WANT to get is UNABASHED PRAISE

I just sock-puppet-account-praise myself. Sometimes, I even sock-puppet-forum-praise myself.
Nintendo SHUTS DOWN RPG Maker's POKEMON fan game ecosystem!
I've seen some of the most remarkable talent in gamedev go into making fangames but... seriously, it's not worth taking the risk anymore. Hell, Pokemon-like indie games like Coromon and HEARTBEAT are living proof that you can take a general idea and put your own creative love into it rather than rest on the laurels of someone else's success and risk getting the hammer.
Fangames were an important part of getting indie gamedev off the ground, but the internet is certainly a much different place than it was in 2006, and no one in this day and age should be using someone else's IP and think it'll go unnoticed. Even using rips is tricky business now.
